TAXI

With all the advantages of public transport in Barcelona, you may not need to take a taxi to get to the Circuit de Catalunya. But if you do, there are a few things to bear in mind.

  • The Uber app may be officially operational in the city, but a legal dispute with the Spanish authorities has rendered it essentially unusable. If you want to use an alternative service, try the Cabify app. It's also worth getting the mytaxi app. Although it only includes standard taxi services, it's a safe way to pay for taxis and, more importantly, to avoid getting ripped off by a dishonest driver who charges more for the distance travelled.
  • Of course, you can also hail a taxi on the street. Always insist that the meter is running. If you're not Spanish,  you're not likely to have an easy time with taxi drivers. Although Barcelona is a world city, you won't get along very well with English.
  • A trip from the centre of Barcelona to the ring road will cost you around 50 euros.
